Our partner MediaMatched approached us to create a website to support the marketing campaign they were putting together for the New Mexico Department of Health's Tobacco Use Prevention and Control program.
The program needed a singular repository for all of its supporting materials for healthcare providers, anti-tobacco trainers, and speakers to access and utilize.
We created an easily navigable WordPress-based solution to organize and easily manage all of NMTUPAC's assets.
WordPress is a free and open-source content management system (CMS) based on PHP and MySQL.
HyperText Markup Language (HTML) is the standard markup language for creating web pages and web applications.
Custom CSS allows us to build as lightweight as possible while maintaining performance.
PHP is a widely-used open source general-purpose scripting language that is especially suited for web development.
This project required a very simple design as it was to be easy to navigate and simple to use. According to the client, simplicity was the most important aspect of this project.
We still wanted to give it a look that made it stand out, however, so we got to experimenting with attractive solutions to basic index-style layouts. We sought to know how we could create a better index-style layout that wasn't simply a bunch of lists. We also had to retain the ease of navigation of the classic basic list as ease of navigation was a priority for the client.
Readability and clarity in organization was also key for the client as their old site was poorly laid out and made it hard for users to find what they are looking for. Their assets were already confined to multiple categories so that made our work simple here - we just had to make sure each resource made sense in its place within the scope of the entire site.
